Technology Marketplace for Gazprom-NTC
Work case
- My role
- Solo UX/UI designer
- Team
- Company representative, ML engineers, frontend and backend developers

Context
Gazprom NTC is the research division of the largest oil and gas company in Russia. It develops solutions in the field of resource extraction and collaborates with universities and technology providers. To simplify this process, a technology platform was created.
Problem
Previously, technology search was done through meetings or email exchanges between a Gazprom NTC department manager and a technology owner. The process was one-sided: owners couldn’t directly reach the right manager and depended on whoever contacted them first — often not the right match. The chance of the information being passed to other departments was low.
Task
- Design a unified platform where Gazprom-NTC department managers and technology owners can post requests and offers. For accurate solution matching, the system uses neural network–based filters that process detailed information about the technologies.
- Use Gazprom’s Consta design system to ensure visual and functional consistency with the company’s other products.
Design process
- Identified user needs
- Segmented users
- Designed the user flow, aligned it with the client and development team, and made necessary adjustments
- Studied the Consta design system
- Sketched out interface ideas
- Created layouts using design system components
- Handed off the work to developers and conducted a design review
User segmentation
Department manager
An employee from any Gazprom-NTC department, acting as a technology requester. Their goal is to find a suitable solution for a project to ensure its successful implementation.
Technology owner
A representative of a partner company or university — the technology owner. Their goal is to develop and sell a solution that meets the requester’s needs.
Search User flow
User Scenario: “Gazprom-NTC Department Manager”: A registered user logs into the platform and uses filters to search for a suitable technology for their project

Solution
Happy path
A registered user — a Gazprom-NTC department manager — logs into the platform, configures the search using filters, and finds a suitable technology for their project.
If the search returns no results, happy path
A registered user — a Gazprom NTC department manager — logs into the platform, configures the search using filters, but receives no results. The user then creates a technology request and specifies the required parameters.
Results
Ease of interaction
Searching for the right technology now minimizes the need for direct calls and increases the chances that a manager will find a suitable solution, while technology owners have a better chance of selling their projects. Alternatively, managers can create technology requests, which gives technology owners insight into what Gazprom currently needs.
Advanced search
Search using text-based filters increases the chances of finding the right technology, as it doesn’t limit the search to predefined categories.
Time-saving
Search takes less time compared to when managers and technology owners tried to find each other blindly or through word of mouth.
